MY husband and I went to look round the Chocolate Works Care Village on a recent Saturday afternoon. What a place.
It is better than a five star hotel and they appear to have thought of everything.
There is a cinema, pub, nail bar, hairdressers, sweet shop, cafe and fitness centre.
Each floor has cosy lounges and dining rooms and the residents’ rooms are state of the art with a wet room in each one.
This is how the elderly should be looked after, not sat in lines in front of the television nodding off to sleep.
I have always lived in fear of having to go into care but I would not mind spending my twilight years there.
I think I would spend most evenings in the cinema eating sweets and then nipping next door to the pub for a swift one before retiring to bed. What a life.
