BOB WAITE wants to see the end of Labour and is cheering on Theresa May as she dismantles the final pieces of the once-cherished post-war settlement (Letters, April 20).
A “strong majority” for the Conservatives - desired by Bob - we all know will spell disaster for our country.
We have witnessed our children’s schools bled dry through forced academisation; we have witnessed the dismantling of the NHS, we have seen the increase in poverty and deprivation, the growth in reliance on food banks, charities, homeless shelters.
We have seen refugee children in Calais yearning for a place to live and a family to love, but we have turned our back, and closed the door.
We have seen our society grow more dispirited, disaffected and divided than ever before.
We know what Tory rule means.
Bob, are you saying you want more of this? Please have a rethink.
