RACHAEL MASKELL accuses our Prime Minister Theresa May of being reckless by calling for a general election. I would not expect anything else.

I have watched these deluded people sitting opposite the Conservative party at Prime Minister’s Questions and, along with the Lib Dems, Greens and the Scottish National Party, generally present a sorry looking lot bringing nothing to the party.

Ms Maskell is probably pretty safe in York as the Labour-minded clones in this city will vote for anyone wearing a red rosette.

I personally am delighted at the news of an election on June 8 as we will see the Labour party disappear certainly for the rest of my lifetime. The sooner Mrs May gets a strong majority in the Commons and procures the Brexit that this country voted for the better.

She can then also grant Nicola Sturgeon of the SNP her second referendum and hopefully get Scotland’s independence so it is not propped up financially by England with its free higher education, free prescriptions etc.
