WE are now getting the truth behind the Tory Government’s total package of misleading information about how they are supposedly protecting (but in actual fact dismantling) the nation’s beloved National Health Service.

They continue to say that they are providing the NHS with more and more money but now we have the chief executive of NHS England, Simon Stevens, stating publicly that patients will face longer delays for operations after the NHS decided to jettison one of its most important waiting time targets as part of an ambitious survival plan that will also see hundreds of thousands of people denied surgery altogether.

This will eventually lead to many thousands of bed closures throughout the NHS in years to come.

I ask any Tory MP to answer my questions: If the Government are providing more and more money to the NHS, why are NHS England having to take this drastic action?

Is it possibly because at the same time they are demanding more and more efficiency saving schemes that really mean financial cutbacks in the budgets to NHS trusts?

I would require proof from the Tory MP as to why they insist on cutbacks but pump money into the NHS at the front end.

Is this to make the Tories look good to the electorate?

The electorate understand that if beds are closed, waiting lists go up and pressures on our hardworking NHS staff becomes intolerable.

The health of the nation is much more important than political manoeuvring.
