COMMENT: We must rise to the challenge of cariing for our older people
HOW we care for our growing elderly population is one of the biggest challenges we face. In the budget, the Government announced extra money for social care. However the focus now is on making sure this money gets to the frontline, where it is so desperately needed.
That’s why we support the Independent Care Group, which represents care providers, asking local authorities to review how much they will pay for social care this year. Our elderly citizens deserve the best care we can afford and workers in this industry deserve fair renumeration for the stellar work they perform.
