I READ with interest about the new hotel threatened by a food hub (The Press, March 18).

Looking at the artist’s impressions the hotel appears to me to be over-development in such a sensitive area of historic interest.

I would have liked to see a marina for boats to moor up, along with some facilities.

We have far too many hotels in York, but having a marina would enhance the city.

Leeds and other large cities have benefited from developments for the boating community.

It’s the right area of York and would give the River Foss a good future based on its historic past.

It could also keep its wildlife habitat in a stable setting.
