IT seems necessary to provide the following helpful advice for young local cyclists:
1 The handlebars at the front are for controlling the machine, with accompanying brake levers. Hands should be used to hold them, not on top of heads or in pockets).
2 It is helpful to keep the front wheel actually on the road when cycling, not in mid-air.
3 The white line down the centre of the road is to divide it helpfully into two lanes. Please cycle along the left one only, not all over the road.
4 The footpath/pavement is for the use of pedestrians. Please stay on the road when cycling or use specially marked cycle lanes/routes.
