WHAT Dave Barker (Letters, February 12) does not seem to grasp is that the leavers voted against being run by failed, unelected politicians who were unable to be elected to run their own countries but expect us to give them the power to run and make laws without being elected by us.
As everyone knows, we in this country adhered to every piece of legislation that came out, did everything they brought out to the letter, but other EU members just ignored it if it did not suit them.
We will now be able to protect our own borders by keeping out illegal migrants and letting in genuine asylum seekers who need our help and compassion.
I believe in the long run the decision by the British electorate will be justified and make things better for us all.
