YORK is a wonderful city to live in, but it’s not only us that seem to think so any more.
The city has got to a saturation point and the council doesn’t seem to be doing anything about it.
Hundreds of new houses have gone up, as well as hundreds of student places being built.
The roads are gridlocked, the hospital is being overrun, it takes two weeks to get a doctor’s appointment, God knows how the sewerage system is coping.
When does it stop?
You can’t keep building accommodation without the infrastructure for the city.
The roads can’t cope and the hospital, doctors and dentists are overrun.
On the other hand, what’s happening with the council tax monies from all these new people?
Where and on what is it being spent?
In the meantime, I will keep walking to work. It’s quicker.
I hope I get better from any illness before I get to see a doctor and God forbid I have to go to Accident & Emergency or try to get a bed in the hospital.
