THE York Theatre Royal pantomime was (as Berwick calls it) the same old rubbish!
It was much enjoyed by a packed house on January 6.
We were sitting in the orchestra, with our favourite trumpeter. A bit too close perhaps as we could not see the feet of the players.
The costumes, colour and scenery were better than ever. We missed Martin Barrass but Brummie stepped up to the plate wonderfully.
Berwick’s dresses were stunning but the mice stole the show with their outfits.
Suzy, despite coming up 50 years young, was a comely Cinderella and Pocklington’s Buttons shone, as did all the players.
My brother-in-law and I got Wagon Wheels and my neighbour a bottle of the new brew.
Looking forward to next year - our 20th year plus. See Martin then too?
