I WORK for the charity IDAS as a support worker in York refuge.
Recently a local village pub - The Mended Drum at Huby - held a Christmas fair and their raffle raised £182 for York’s women’s refuge.
Not only is this spectacular but I have since found out they hold regular charity events.
They have raised money for Macmillan, the children’s hospital and many others. They already have another charity event planned.
I truly believe that people like Lisa and Ricky should be recognised, what they do is truly selfless and effects many people locally too, they have chosen charities that have helped locals and mean something to the village as a whole.
I know this isn’t groundbreaking news but I truly feel that a little appreciation would go a long way.
