I HEARD the other night Roger Miller singing the 1960s song “England swings like a pendulum, Bobbies on bicycles two by two”.
Those were the days.
Now that does not happen, but you do see a lot of students and others who should know better pedalling happily on the pavements where there are no cycle lanes.
