ALAN ROBINSON said the vote was “far from overwhelming” (Letters, November 28).
I would submit it was not a majority at all, as barely 40 per cent of the eligible voters wanted to leave - 23 per cent (more than ten million) did not vote at all, and it is hard to believe many who wanted to leave would not have turned up.
It is more likely that many would not have been particularly happy with the EU as it is at present, but felt that there would be many problems if we did leave and there was a better chance to try to improve things by remaining in.
