IN response to Keith Chapman’s letter (The Press, December 5) re NHS In Need.
Some years ago, the Football League asked all professional footballers to donate a day’s wages into a fund to help nurses.
Nearly all players from the Champonship down gave up a day’s wage, but guess who refused, barring a few? Yes, multi-million pound earners from the Premier League.
Perhaps they all go private, but the first port of call is always an NHS A&E hospital.
The NHS wouldn’t need help if they started charging time wasters ie drunks and druggies. Also, charge NHS tourists and get rid of bosses of a boss of a boss etc.
