BREXIT, Brexit, Brexit.

This new word in our life keeps cropping up and it has been used by both sides for or against leaving the EU.

I voted to stay but I accept the verdict.

Alan Robinson (Letters, November 28) says “the vote for leaving was not overwhelming”, yet 52 to 48 is still a majority in a democratic society.

Howard Perry (Letters, December 5) bemoans the apparent change in our Prime Minister’s policy toward the “jams”.

In actual fact, by delaying the start of Brexit Theresa May has created a vacuum in which anger and speculation are rife. We should have been in serious negotiations by now.

Any attempt to halt or reverse the path the majority have chosen to follow should be cast aside or there will be no end to the carping.

A decision of the electorate has been made, let’s get on with it.
