DURING the negotiations over our exit from this undemocratic and bureaucratic cartel that is the EU, there might be some questions we should be asking them.

How many of the 27 member countries were invaded by Nazi Germany?

How many had citizens who volunteered to fight for the invading forces?

Answers: virtually all of them.

How many were invaded by the USSR prior to its “inevitable and forecastable” collapse?

How many pay/or have paid in 70 years, as much as the UK into maintaining NATO?

How many pay even the bare two per cent contribution they agreed to?

Answers: none.

If their aim is to punish us for leaving and possibly generate an increasing isolationism in the UK (and perhaps join post-Trump’s USA): “Be careful what you wish for.”
