I WONDER if the Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is really fit and proper organisation when it comes to looking after the residents of York and district.
The Press headline (November 29) must surely have created concerns among the local populace. Do the CCG have the right to act as god, to deny or delay operations for anyone?
Selby was given a new cottage hospital, however many of the clinics held in the old hospital have gradually been transferred to York. Why?
The new Selby hospital must be one of the most under-used establishments in the CCG area.
The good people of Selby now have to spend the best part of a day attending clinics in York where a couple of hours was all that was required when clinics were held in Selby.
Some time ago the Department for Health instructed hospitals to dispense with parking fees. York, of course, chose to ignore this.
For those of us with little or no public transport are forced to drive to York, and are then penalised by excessive parking fees.
I go back to my opening statement, is the CCG really fit for purpose?
