AT present, the only way the glorious sound of York Minster bells can be heard is on You Tube.
I am especially saddened that the bells will be silent on Remembrance Sunday. This dishonours all who served, died or were wounded in wars past and present.
To quote from a poem: On generations of men, Our summer sons, On flowers that will not bloom again, A silence falls.
