I NEVER thought I would agree with Howard Perry but I am in full support on keeping council homes.

Woolnough House gained a good overall rating in a recent inspection, as reported by The Press.

That is far better, I believe, than care homes costing £1,000 per week plus.

How can the aged past workers afford private care? They may have no assets, no house to sell etc.

There is so much waste with tax payers’ money.

The elderly should not have to worry about what is going to happen to them in later life.

Home care, at 15 minutes per “customer” (dreadful wording) is not enough for people with no family near or far to help them.

Homes providing care, company, warmth and security are vital for older people.

The closing of good council care is inhuman to say the least.

Do not close Woolnough House, as is rumoured.
