IT appears to me, having over many years been involved in bell ringing, and in particular the teaching of recruits to learn the art of bellringing, that the Dean and Chapter of York Minster know very little about bell ringing.

One cannot produce a new band of untrained ringers in a matter of a few months. It takes years.

Yes indeed. Years of dedication and hard work and, even after that, real accomplished success may not be achieved.

It is such a shame as York Minster bells are, with the tenor at just under three tons, one of the finest toned rings in the country.
