I totally agree with the comments of serving police officer Miss E Welburn (Letters, September 22) regarding the police helicopters.
Also, while on the subject of helicopters, I think it is a diabolical disgrace that the air ambulance has to rely on charity to deliver such an essential service. It is high time it was nationalised with some of the Brexit brass we are supposed to be saving.
In recent times two very good friends have had their lives certainly saved by the air ambulance. One lives out in the sticks at Old Byland and the other out in the sticks at Millington in East Yorkshire God bless the air ambulance and all who fly in her. It could be any one of us who needs it, at any time.
