WE realise YorSpace have been a lot quieter after last year’s exploits but rest assured we haven’t given up or gone away.

After a bit of a break last summer, we have been pushing things forward and wanted to drop everyone a quick update on what we’ve been up to.

We continue our search for a site, to grow our group and work on the business side of our co-op. Since we were last in touch, we have...

l Taken councillors and officers to visit a successful cohousing project in Leeds, LILAC, and they seemed to like it too l Had several meetings with City of York Council officers and elected members and continue to have a positive dialogue regarding potential sites l Successfully applied for financial support from Unltd to change our structure into a Community Benefit Society. We are currently in discussion with Wrigleys Solicitors, who are helping us to navigate this process.

l Became part of the One Planet York network and were present at the launch l Have further developed our group building and running skills by training in sociocracy and are excited to practice our new group decision making techniques.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to again thank you for the support you gave us during our bid for Oliver House.

It was very much appreciated.
