WHAT economic expertise does Ukip have?
Judith Morris (Letters, July 22) claims that Brexit has not damaged the UK’s economy.
Consider:
1 Brexit has not yet happened; international firms are watching what kind of deal Theresa May can clinch with Europe post Article 50 before they act.
2 Judith Morris does not attribute her statistics of growth but experts like the IHS Markit’s Purchasing Managers’ Index reports “dramatic deterioration” in Britain’s economic position.
3 The government has welcomed the proposed Japanese take-over of ARM. How does UKIP expect to be able to influence industries controlled by international capitalism?
I can’t speak for everyone who omits their name but in my case Mr? Mrs? Ms? A P Cox (Letters, July 19) it is because on the Saturday after the referendum our street was woken after midnight by people singing all they knew of the national anthem, ie God Save The Queen.
Next morning we found various acts of vandalism, including one that can’t be mentioned in a family newspaper.
We’re not really keen on being revisited by these jolly patriots hence...
