OUR environmentally friendly council cannot make a decision on the butchering of 103 trees at Clifton Moor (The Press, July 20), and are now leaving it to the public to decide their fate sometime in August.

If the vote goes against protecting the trees and associated wildlife, does it then follow that the recently built, over a long period of time, Costa Coffee and Greggs building will be demolished, as bricks and mortar prevent any sighting of the commercial properties?

Don’t mess with nature.
