IT was an interesting article by Mike Laycock about potential visitors to York staying away due to drunken misbehaviour (The Press, July 18). Sorry to say, but you were obviously in the wrong part of town.
We were with friends, out early to try to avoid the intimidating, drunken behaviour which has now become the norm in York.
We approached a street just off Rougier Street where we were greeted by men who were openly in front of us being sick and wandering around on the pavement shouting and swearing.
The time was a quarter to seven.
York has now become a no-go area for going out for meal/drink at the weekend.
