I BEGAN to sympathise with Megi Rychlikova’s comments regarding xenophobia, ignorance and nationalistic behaviour (The Press, July 8).
Then I realised this is not solely confined to this country. It happens worldwide and not just verbally, with plenty of violence too.
I became dismayed and ended up feeling insulted when she went on to say “there is no such thing as an English citizen” and using the Little Englander smear.
Go across the English (sorry British) Channel and ask a French person or a German what they consider themselves and they will answer French or German.
Stop making being proud to be English something to be ashamed of.
