I WOULD like to say a big thank you to two people in cars who helped me retrieve my expensive rechargeable bike light on Sunday evening.
Cycling back to Heworth from the station, I was dismayed to find it not on my bike when I reached home.
Searching for it, I had passed the roundabout into Monkgate and was crossing the road when both a woman in a car and a man in a van both stopped to ask if I’d lost a light as there was one flashing back on the roundabout.
It was tucked into the kerb where a barrier made it difficult to spot from the pavement.
I went home with a lovely warm feeling from the kindness of those two people, and the satisfaction of having found my light.
