MY partner Monica and I had the good fortune to be invited to attend York races by my very good friend John Sissons to watch his racehorse run earlier this month.

His two year old home-bred filly Melanie Millie won very convincingly and appears to have the making of the very good racehorse.

In the past I have criticised York Racecourse - and justifiably - on several occasions.

I now doff my trilby to them on the vast improvements they have made and on the top class staff they have employed in making it run successfully.

Very well done to all connected.

Royal Ascot watch out. Here we come.
