I WAS pleased to see such a strong negative reaction to the proposal to cut down 103 trees at Clifton Moor (The Press, June 6).
To say that more people would shop there if they could see it from the road seems to me a nonsense.
The stores and advertising signs are already very visible and how many people passing are looking for a place to shop?
Surely most of them are already on their way to the Moor or are in a hurry to get somewhere else like Scarborough or Leeds.
As has been noted, the outlook at Clifton Moor is quite sterile now being mostly parking lot and concrete walkways; with no trees on the periphery, it would be almost a desert.
If the trees go, I for one would never shop there again.
