I HAD to laugh at Matthew Laverack’s letter headed “Some Irish see reason to leave” (The Press, June 21).
His subsequent comment re his vote to leave must be based on a very flimsy foundation.
Most Irish people want to remain: most Irish people want the UK to stay and most Irish people are aware of the Common Travel Area between Ireland and the UK which was established in the 1920s, well before the EU was formed.
Forget a few letters in an Irish paper and look at the economics: virtually all the UK trade is with members of the EU.
