ON June 3 and 4, a small team of members of the York branch of The Parachute Regimental Association conducted a street collection in the Coppergate Centre and the city centre on behalf of the Airborne Forces Security Fund.
Once again the citizens and visitors responded magnificently including one bride to be, daughter of an ex-para, who lined up her 15 attendants and supervised their contributions.
The total sum raised was £1,733.99. Veterans of Normandy, Arnhem, Rhine Crossing, Falklands, Iraq and Afghanistan will be aided by this gift from York.
