AS an ex-member of the teaching profession, I am saddened by the increasing number of malicious accusations made by students against staff who try their best to maintain some kind of discipline in our schools.

Such actions undermine their confidence to deal with disruptions in the classroom, which in turn does nothing to help the vast majority of students with their education.

I suggest that each teacher be equipped with a headcam, similar to those issued to the police. This action would act as a deterrent to potentially disruptive students and where necessary, provide evidence to senior managers within the school.

To those people who may complain of a Big Brother culture, please remember that these could be switched on and off at the discretion of the teacher.
