STILL undecided? Caught up in a mass of bewildering, confusing “facts” and “statistics”? Then step back and do what I am doing – look at the bigger picture.

From the Social Reform Acts of the 19th century, through the growth of the Labour Party, the Co-operative Movement and trade unionism running through into the 20th century and including the Welfare State legislation after the Second World War, along with nationalisation of public services, Britain has shown the world how to be a caring nation.

There have been aberrations and blips along the way, mostly caused by the Establishment determined not to relax its grip on control.

Over the last 100 years the caring institutions listed above have been weakened, but we have had the European Union, with its social legislation on all aspects of everyday life, to protect us.

If the Leave campaign wins this referendum, those who have been most prominent on TV (Johnson, Duncan-Smith, Farage et al) will rub their hands with glee, because it means that they and their ilk can tear up EU social legislation, put the Establishment even more firmly on top and run our country solely for their benefit.

Forget the immigration scaremongers. Theirs is just a side-show, which can be dealt with later. Consider the bigger picture and vote Remain.
