HAVING read the article regarding Stonegate and the mess the council have made of repairing the road, it left me wondering just how much of the £50,000 repair bill is the cost of having to rip up the asphalt recently put down.
Or perhaps that cost is in addition to the sum quoted.
Now, the council has decided to spend further to replace the flags.
I am sure the existing flags could have waited a little while longer until new flags were obtained. After all, they didn't all break at the same time.
It would seem the council has little regard for the taxpayer's money and to make such a mess of a simple decision is appalling.
Do they think the purse is a bottomless pit constantly topped up by the taxpayer?
