IN answer to Barbara Hudson (Letters, February 11) the birds which are roosting in large numbers in Parliament Street are pied wagtails.
This is a widespread species which is adapting well to our built-up areas.
Next time you visit a motorway services you are almost sure to see several scavenging round the car park.
They are easy to recognise, and the name says it all. They are black and white, and their long tails are constantly bobbing.
They liven up Parliament Street no end.
