Yearsley Pool
FORMER Labour councillor Tracey Simpson-Laing should hang her head in shame for her Yearsley Pool comments (Letters, February 3).
The Labour group had a long held obsession of trying to close Yearsley Pool while in office. Rather than invest in the pool’s future, the Labour group voted to remove the entire subsidy in 2016.
The long held plan was to replace Waterworld and Yearsley Pool with an inferior smaller pool complex.
It’s no secret that the Liberal Democrats are trying to redress the injustice to Yearsley Pool, because they understand its significance in terms of public health, safety and sport.
