IT was nice to read that Heather Causnett finds something amusing (Letter, February 4).

From her frequent criticism of the fair sex, it was beginning to seem that her attitude to life was a little skewed.

The controversy regarding breastfeeding in public has been raging for decades, with people expressing strong views on either side of the argument, but I think it is fair to say that if you don’t like what you see, avert your gaze.

It is sad that someone can use this very personal activity as another opportunity to make unkind comments which may distress young mums at a time when they are recovering from the exhausting business of giving birth, and caring for a baby.
