PLEASE do not encourage manufacturers to further decrease the amount of product in their packaging (Letters, January 29).

They have been reducing the contents for years, never lowering the prices and often even substantially increasing their prices.

Some well-known confectionery bars have shrunk so much you need a magnifying glass to locate their matchstick size on the supermarket shelves.

Perfect solution to easier weight loss? Definitely not.

If anything, it will incite the consumer to double their intake to satisfy their hunger pangs, thus increasing their calorific intake.
