THERE is a simple solution to the breastfeeding in public debate (The Press, February 2).

When my daughter-in-law had our latest grandson, she had a semi cape-like garment that went over her shoulder that hid her flesh from public view, but meant the important eye contact between baby and mother was maintained.

It folded up neatly and was kept in the bag along with the other baby things.

This old prude was not in the least bit offended, in fact it made perfect sense for everyone.
