THE Conservative-led administration took residents’ views into careful consideration during the consultation period leading up to the release of the draft 2016/17 City of York Council budget.
However, this new approach to open democratic engagement with residents goes further.
Prior to executive approval, residents will now have an opportunity for further input with a day-long budget drop-in session, this Tuesday, February 9, from 10am to 7pm at West Offices.
Residents can put their views directly to an executive member of the council, one of eight portfolio holders responsible for setting the city’s budget, in an informal setting with no appointments needed. This is an excellent forum for residents to make their views known.
Cllr Stuart Rawlings, Deputy leader Conservative group, York
