SOME time ago I took part in a radio discussion re the change of rules of the use of whips in horseracing.
A representative of Animal Aid was one of the participants. Their main aim is to ban all horseracing. They are not a recognised authority with any experience of horseracing.
Racehorse owners, trainers, grooms and jockeys all love their horses and are heartbroken at any loss of a horse that they are involved with. I voice my opinion based on vast experience.
Catterick is one of the racecourses best supported by trainers and owners in Yorkshire and, take it from me, it most certainly wouldn’t be if it was in any way dangerous.
Animal Aid are scaremongering.
