TODAY’S young women will never cease to amaze and amuse me (The Press, February 2).

For generations women have breast-fed their babies and the bond formed by doing so is one of the strongest between mother and baby.

But now, of course, women prefer to do this most private and personal thing in the full glare of publicity, as though it had been solely invented to make them look good.

So now “women legally protected and entitled to breastfeed in public” is the attention-seeking headline in The Press. Whatever next will my sex do in order to attract attention to themselves? I shudder to think.
