THE Conservative-Lib Dem coalition is clearly rattled (The Press, January 30).

As each month passes with the stadium seemingly going backward, they have point-blank refused to answer any of the serious, perfectly reasonable questions that have been asked by Labour for the good of this scheme and of the city’s two professional sports clubs.

After banging on for months about Labour not getting a brick put in the ground, the new administration has...er, not got a brick in the ground.

The only thing of note to have actually happened has been the demolition of the old buildings, but residents will not have faith that this heralds the building of a new one given the continued delays to construction, key staff members leaving the project, ignoring questions from the football club, and important meetings being cancelled.

Blame Labour until the cows come home, but the project was on-track and on-budget when the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats took over almost a year ago and they are now accountable for the failures that are happening.

The time for shaking hands and hard hat photographs is over, this administration must get on with the business of delivering this stadium for the residents of York now.
