THE demand for more primary school places in the South Bank area is creating undeniable pressure on schools and the local authority.
But the way this is being managed has left parents outraged, as they recently found out through The Press that the council is backing up a proposal to split the Scarcroft Primary School site into two and create an annex at Millthorpe School.
At the community information evening on January 26, it transpired that there was another development, that of the Ebor Trust’s Creative Art Academy.
The heads of Scarcroft and Millthorpe announced that they knew nothing about it until recently, and Ebor was denied an opportunity to present that proposal.
It is astonishing that no one knew about this.
