THOUSANDS more houses are to be built in the development of York Central.
How can we cope with thousands more bus journeys? People need encouragement to use buses instead of cars.
A councillor once told me: “York has a bus station. It’s called Rougier Street.”
This is laughable. As we all know, a bus station has seating under cover, toilets, an inquiry counter, racks of timetables etc.
All buses pull in here, making the term “bus interchange” a reality.
What a perfect opportunity we have now to urge councillors to build York’s long-awaited bus station outside the railway station.
It will be what York has needed for years. Do you agree?
