FOR several years I had noticed that my hearing was getting poorer, so I arranged via my GP for an audio testing at York Hospital.

This was very professionally carried out two months ago by a Bangladeshi member of staff called Abdul.

This month, I went again to York Hospital for another check and fitting of hearing aid equipment. I was seen within ten minutes of my 4.15pm appointment time by a Scot called Ken.

He was most helpful, spent great care and time, setting up the digital ear pieces and explaining how to use, fit, clean and battery service the very delicate parts.

Once in place, the hearing aids made a huge difference to my hearing capabilities, and the whole experience made me realise yet again how wonderful the UK NHS services are, and how fortunate we are to have such caring dedicated skilful folk looking after us.

A big thank you to all at York’s main hospital.
