WHOEVER thought that turning two very busy roundabouts into one was a good idea must live on a different planet to all the motorists that rely Fulford Road to get out of the city.
He took out one part with bollards, and the other with a bus-only section. Last Tuesday, it took me 20 minutes to cover the distance from Mecca Bingo to Cemetery Road.
The problem you have got now is that when you eventually get to the first roundabout you have two sets of traffic lights to your right.
The A64 slip road is very busy from 4.30pm onwards with people going home to Selby etc.
All the traffic from the Designer Outlet has to come towards York before going right on the roundabout to get to the A19 Selby Road, so without lights when leaving York you have no way of getting out.
