SHOOT to kill?

The very notion of ‘shooting to kill’ has to be about the most ridiculous and oft parroted phrase ever.

Equally then, it being a ‘policy’, of any sort, also makes no sense in reality.

Aiming to hit someone in the arm or leg to wound only makes sense in TV dramas.

As with being able to make a shot to the middle of the target’s forehead from 20 or 30 yards. Anyone ever trained in firearms would, or should, know that.

The only reason that anyone would shoot at someone should be with the purpose of killing, or at the very least, disabling them, so that they no longer pose a threat. They might even be shooting back?

If they do not pose a threat, why are you shooting at them anyway?

Which is why their can be no justification for the possession of hand guns by other than the armed services or law enforcement agencies.
