HE'S Yorkshire's last of the few and at the weekend Terry Clark finally received the accolade he deserved at Westminster Abbey, when a packed congregation spontaneously applauded him and his fellow Battle of Britain comrades during a service to mark the conflict's 75th anniversary.

Mr Clark insists that he is not a hero and like most war veterans frowns on the use of the ‘H’ word. He says he was just doing his bit for King and Country, but on Sunday the many were able to show the few just how big a debt we owe them.

Thank you Terry Clark, from the bottom of our hearts.
