WHILE punters were losing their shirts at York Racecourse this summer, five youngsters made a far safer bet by raising £1,400 for good causes.
Luke Smith, Lellie and Jimmy Dalgleish, and Ethan and Aidan Robertson formed TLC (Team Lifestyle Cafe) in Knavesmire Crescent, where they worked eight hour days serving home made cakes and soup to racegoers and local residents. It came about through a police campaign challenging young people to carry out community-based projects during the holidays and we reckon these pals more than met the brief.
Well done to all of them.
